Personal Response: Napolean Complex (Yesenia)

The Napoleon complex is a specific feeling of inferiority about one’s height, which is kind of dumb, I think. I don’t believe in that whole idea of it. Why get all depressed over your height? I mean there are a lot of short/tall people in this world. Its not like you’re the only one. There might be others who are taller or shorter than you. Besides, what can people say about your height? They might laugh, but there just joking around. Mm, well most of my friends are short. They don’t get all depressed. They’re always saying that their fun size and they always laugh about what the others say, it’s really funny.
The complex relates to Curley because he’s short and he hates bigger guys. Probably he’s jealous that they’re bigger than him. Maybe he just feels that he needs to take them down. Just so he can feel more powerful. Right now in the story, now that he saw how big Lennie is, he’s wanting to start problems with him. Lennie has mental problems, but Curley doesn’t know that. George told Lennie not to do anything because he’s the boss’s son and if he does something they could both get fired. I think Curley also likes to start problems with the big guys.  He knows they can't do anything back because he’s the bosses son, and if they do something to him, they’ll get fired.
