Teen Pregnancy (Jessica)

Is Pregnancy the biggest issue at Wyandotte? What problems can occur from having babies while young? What problems do the parents face? Do both parents take the same type of responsibility or do you think guys have it easier?

Honestly I don’t believe teen pregnancy is the biggest issue at Wyandotte. There aren’t that many pregnant girls here. There are a few but there could be more. I think the biggest problem from having a baby at a young age is school. Yeah many people say they can do both but most don’t. They quit school. They don’t give their kids a good future. Sometimes they are too young. They don’t know what they want and they are not mature enough for a baby. Babies need a lot of attention. The young parents may have other things going on. Their baby is the thing that opens their eyes into the real world. They don’t realize all of this before. They might take it as a game then boom it all comes to them. I think the girls get it tougher than the guys do. The guy can just choose not to be there for them. It can be vise versa but its usually not. The girls have to carry the baby inside them for 9 months then they have to give birth to it. The guys don’t suffer all the pain. When the guy doesn’t stay the girl is left with the whole package.
