Dropouts (Hector)

Why do I think many students dropout? What happens to the kids? What problems do they have of dropping out? What should we do to help them not dropout?

Many kids when they get to high school just get tired of school. They start skipping and their grades are getting low, they repeat the grade again and again until they pass it. Most kids do not want to deal with that. I have a friend he supposed to be a senior already but he flunked 9th grade 3 times and he decided to dropout because he got tired of school and decided to work. I think people that dropout from high school have more trouble finding a job because they didn’t graduate. People that dropout get paid less than people who graduated. According to the article, The Effects of Not Graduating High School reported that, “those who drop out of high school are four times more likely to not have a job than those who have graduated from at least a four-year college”(Crossley). People who go to college and graduate from college have still a better life than those who just graduate from high school. Why? Because according to Lenora Crossley in , The Effects of Not Graduating High School, “College graduates make on average $336 more weekly than those who only graduated high school” (Crossley). As an individual I think the best way to help kids stay in school is to encourage them to their work and do what they need to do to pass the grade level. Parents, teachers, principals, anybody could help them out for them to stay in school. There should be places where the kids could go get help from and transportation should be included for them not to go walking alone or wasting gas.
