Dark Side Of Sports. (Jessica)

What do you think about drug usage during performance? Do you think its okay for athletes to use drugs to make them stronger or faster? Explain.

            I think they shouldn’t use drugs. I mean it’s their choice but they are better off with out them. Drugs might help them by increasing their strength or by increasing their speed and their strength but it starts affecting other things in their bodies you cant receive good things in exchange for nothing. Some side effects can be increasing of breast and decreasing of other areas. I don’t think they need that if they’re good they’re good they shouldn’t need drugs to help them out. I think its also unfair to the athletes that don’t use drugs. People may think they aren’t as good as some of the players that do drugs when maybe they’re even better but you cant tell because the drug users are usually bigger & stronger.  I think it’s a way of cheating two. They try to do things the “easy” way but I mean like I said before it isn’t fair to the other athletes who play by the rules. And play with what they actually got and know not from drugs and what not. My opinion on this is that players that do drugs just shouldn’t be allowed to play. The team would be better off with people who play straight and sober. 

Girls in Sports

Do you think girls should be allowed to play in boys’ sports teams? Explain. What can a girl bring to the team? Can problems come with this? What is learned from this?

     

     I think yes. Girls should be allowed to play in boy’s teams and sports. Just because she’s a girl it doesn’t make her less passionate or skilled. Girls are as good as guys. Some are even better than some guys at “guy” sports. Girls can bring skills and a little difference I think all sports should be for girls and boys together. Maybe this change will make the teams better? They can put their skills together and bring the team to championship. Teamwork. Sometimes it helps to be mixed it helps to get along with other people to be more out there? If that makes any sense. I think it helps out to loose stage fright kind of? If its girls and boys in the same team helping each other out with the same skills etc. it should work out. I think the main problem with people would be criticism of people who think girls are too weak for the sport or people who don’t believe girls should intermingle with guys. I think what we learn from this is that people having different thoughts on whether girls should or shouldn’t play with guys. Also that there are ups and downs to whether or not mixing both genders in a team. 

Art in Society (Jessica)

Does art play an important role in your society? How would it affect if there was no more art?

I think art plays a very important role in our society. Art makes this world would be colorless and dull. With out art everything would be boring the littlest things can be considered art. I think if we no longer had art some happiness would be gone. Colors would no longer have a meaning. People would lose inspiration. Things wouldn’t be interesting. Art can change your way of thinking! With out art this world would be dull. Art is beauty. Art expresses feelings. Art expresses colors. Art can bring you happiness and sadness. Art can give therapy as well. If there was no longer art in my community everything would be ugly and sad. Imagine living with out colors and designs and all those beautiful things. I think it would even be boring! Cultures and traditions would be destroyed. If you think about it pretty much everything has art in it. Everywhere you look there is art. With out art we would be nothing. Art inspires. Art is creation. Art is life. Art is passion. Art is everything and everywhere.
